Slow Fashion

Slow Fashion is an awareness and approach to fashion, which considers the processes and resources required to make clothing and accessories, particularly focusing on sustainability. It encourages slower production schedules, fair wages, lower carbon footprints, and (ideally) zero waste.

It involves buying better-quality accessories and garments with higher quality that will last for longer and values fair treatment of people, animals and the planet.

  • Made from high quality, sustainable materials
  • Often in smaller (local) stores rather than huge chain enterprises
  • Locally sourced, produced and sold accessories and garments
  • Few, specific styles per collection, which are released twice or maximum three times per year

We use the highest quality sustainable materials that we can source to make our bags that include; Italian or Japanese ANIMAL FREE leather, (recycled polyurethane) 100% certified organic and fair-trade canvas from India that supports more than 6,000 small share holder farmers who grow organic cotton, low impact dyes and recycled rubber padding. Our cut and sew Nairobi atelier takes pride in our attention to detail and craftsmanship. Everything is hand crafted from the stitching to the screen printing we use to print our custom patterns on the interior of the bags.

The entire supply chain from seed to production considers the well-being of people, wildlife, and the planet.

We are redefining luxury through a new expression of imaginative design that is elegant and at the same time distinctive, functional and produced in a responsible manner. In every way we can imagine, social and environmental activism is woven into the fabric of our products. Our limited runs ensure high standards. MOT’s fashion statement is: “Awe-inspiring works of art.”
